Features
Everything VidsDesk does, in detail.
Finding the moments worth cutting
A source video is probed, transcribed with word-level timings, then split into candidate segments. Each candidate is scored on how self-contained it is — whether it opens on a complete thought and resolves before it ends — and the strongest are rendered.
Written from what was actually said
Subtitles are burned in at word level, timed against the transcript rather than estimated. Post captions are drafted from the clip's own content — a keyword-led opening line, a short expansion using the terms actually spoken, and a closing call to action.
Hashtags that exist
Tags are drawn from a vocabulary built out of the account's own published posts, so every hashtag attached to a clip is one the account has genuinely used. Invented tags are discarded.
Editable before posting
Nothing publishes unreviewed unless you choose that. Captions can be edited, and accounts can be set to draft mode so every clip lands in TikTok for manual approval.
Publishing on a rhythm
Each connected account carries its own cadence and time slots. Renders start two hours before a slot so a clip is finished and verified well before it is due, and one job renders at a time to keep the machine responsive.
Two posting modes
Inbox draft sends the clip to TikTok for manual review. Direct post publishes immediately, honouring the account's own privacy, comment, duet and stitch permissions.
Retries with limits
A failed post retries twice, an hour apart, then stops and raises an alert rather than hammering the API or silently giving up.
Storage discipline
Source video is kept only until its clips have posted. Rendered clips are removed on publish, and new jobs are refused when free disk falls below a safe floor.
What happened after publishing
Performance covers the whole account, not just clips VidsDesk produced, so automated output can be compared honestly against everything else that was posted.
Landing pages and channel joins
VidsDesk serves its own landing pages, each carrying a distinct invite link. When someone joins the linked Telegram channel, the join is attributed to the page that sent them, deduplicated per person, so traffic can be measured per campaign rather than guessed at.
Built to run unattended
Deploy and rollback
Releases are snapshotted before deploying and roll back automatically if a health check fails.
Nightly backups
The database is backed up every night on a rolling retention window.
Alerting
Job failures, posting failures, worker death, low disk and token refresh problems all raise an immediate notification.
